Congregational Shabbat Dinner with Culinary Artist Jennifer Abadi

Enjoy Shabbat Dinner made by talented volunteers using recipes from culinary artist-in-residence Jennifer Abadi's cookbook, A Fistful of Lentils: Syrian-Jewish Recipes from Grandma Fritzie’s Kitchen.

Our vegetarian menu includes: 

  • Syrian vegetable chili served over spaghetti (we will have Italian sauce available as well as plain pasta; gluten free pasta will be available),
  • cheese and spinach pie (gluten free),
  • mujadara (lentils and rice) (gluten free)
  • salad (gluten free)

Cost: $18 adult (13+)/$10 child (4–12)/Free child (0–3)

WINE TASTING: Brotherhood will offer a wine tasting of two different wines that are kosher for Passover. There is no charge for the tastings. We will have two wines to try: Goose Bay Sauvignon Blanc for $24.99 and Tabor-Amanda Merlot which is $19.99. If you wish to purchase a bottle to enjoy with dinner or take home, we will gladly charge your Temple account. We can’t accept payment on Friday evening, so no need to bring your credit cards or cash. 

ABOUT JENNIFER ABADI
Culinary Artist-in-Residence Jennifer Abadi is renowned for her groundbreaking work in documenting Passover traditions from across 23 countries in the Middle East, Central Asia, North Africa, and the Mediterranean.

She is the author of "A Fistful of Lentils: Syrian-Jewish Recipes from Grandma Fritzie’s Kitchen" and "Too Good To Passover: Sephardic & Judeo-Arabic Seder Menus and Memories from Africa, Asia, and Europe." Her work has been recognized by the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP), and she is celebrated for her dedication to preserving and sharing the culinary heritage of Jewish communities worldwide.
